Anoar “Munir” Aiex, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was born April 17, 1929 in Marilia, Brazil to Jose and Badia Aiex.
Munir had a strong bond with his family, although he was quiet and reserve, his love for his family was always true. Munir and Nola traveled in graduate school through Europe in the mid 50’s, traveling in many different places including a few favorites of Italy and Paris. Munir and Nola were married December of 1959. He graduated with a PhD in Philosophy and taught at University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign of Philosophy and Brazilian studies, he retired in 1997. He also wrote several books in Philosophy and Brazilian studies. He also was quite intrigued by politics.
Anoar “Munir” was preceded in death parents, Jose and Badia Aiex, brother Naif Aiex, sisters Alice Arbex and Dalila Alves of Brazil.
Munir is survived by his wife Nola Aiex, daughter Annabel (husband Paul) Day of Niskayuna, NY, son Patrick (wife Rosie) Aiex, of Canton, GA, sisters Samira Aiex Rahal, Leila Charlesworth, many nieces and nephews, grandson Andrew Day.
He is missed by all who knew and loved him
