Arnold Ray AndrewsSeptember 2, 1940 ~ November 10, 2017 (age 77)
Arnold Ray Andrews, 77, passed away, surrounded by his family, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Friday, November 10, 2017. Arnold was born to Elon and Mary Jane Andrews on September 2, 1940. Arnie loved music and began playing guitar and singing at the age of five and started his first band at twelve. He was well versed in every genre of music. He was a singer/song writer and played bass. He was a part of the music ministry at his church. He was the president of the New Life Ministerial Association from 1989-2016. He often used his music to minister to people. Although he had been a pastor, he often felt that he was called to outreach ministry for those who didn't have a church and/or didn't know God. His ministry included hospitals, a clown ministry with his daughter Melissa, prison ministry, and even bars. Everyone seemed receptive to a good ol' song about Jesus, and this was his opportunity to tell them about God. Arnie was quite the "jokester" and was best known among his family for his terrible "Arnie jokes". He always loved being surrounded by his family, and often talked about living somewhere everyone could live with him. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy Andrews, four daughters, Melissa O'Connor (Nick) of Indianapolis, Amelia (Amy) Barton (Brad) of Danville, Brenda Liner (Kenny) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Richelle (Shelly) Harper of Hope, Indiana, eight grandchildren, Taylor Clark, Trevor Clark, Christina Creviston, John Creviston, Lauren Liner, Kenneth Liner, Betsy Green, Derek Harper. Arnie was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Alayna, Baby Suire, Jayla, Allyson, Natalie, and Kendrick. Arnie was preceded in death by his parents, Elon and Mary Jane, and his sister, Martha Kathryn.
Arnie was well liked and respected throughout the church and music community and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
