Donald LaVerne VromanFebruary 25, 1924 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 93)
Donald LaVerne Vroman, 93, of Lafayette has left this world to meet the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born February 25, 1924 to Leslie Lucius and Clara Jane (Schultz) Vroman.
After high school Donald severed his country in the United States of America Navy, which he served during the 2nd World War. After serving, he worked for Thrifty Drug Company for 23 years. Which he then served in the Warehouse United Employee Union for many years. He met his loving wife, Hazel Kathryn (West) and were married June 18, 1999. At that time adopting children, Alice, Elizabeth, Sharon, Rebecca, Terresa, and Step-son William. The love for his family could only be surpassed by the love he had for serving his Lord, as a member The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which he served dutifully to the end of his days. He also enjoyed coin collecting and rare books.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie L. and Clara J. Vroman, Late ex-wife Lucy, brothers Leslie Everest, Leonard Ernest, Myron Elmer, and Harold DeWayne Vroman, sisters Beulah Clemintine Kunes, Lela Edna Deal, Vivian May Rasmussen, Ruby Maxine Vacantine and Alice Campbell Vroman, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He is survived by his loving wife Hazel Kathryn (West) Vroman, Step-son William, daughters Alice (husband Joseph) Louks, Elizabeth Hand (widowed), Sharon (husband Randy) Hecker, Rebecca Justice, and Terresa (husband Rudy) Judy, and 19 grandchildren and a plethora of great grandchildren.
Donald is missed by all who knew and loved him.
