David Michael Eaton, age 65, passed peacefully at his home Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
He was born in Kokomo, IN to Charles Franklin Eaton and Julia Ellen (Peck) Eaton on August 23, 1953 and was the oldest of four children. David retired as a tool and dye maker from GM Powertrain, Bedford, IN. Early in life he expressed a passion for music, after graduating from Shoals High School he attended the IU School of Music before exploring other passions. His hobbies included hunting, skiing, raising Rottweilers, and playing music for family and friends. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren and building HO scale model trains. David was an avid and active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had just celebrated receiving his 9 year sobriety chip. He was very proud to share his story of sobriety with others and was very passionate about helping and guiding others on their path to sobriety.
He is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, brothers Mark and his wife Jessica Eaton of Shoals, IN, Scott and his wife Callie Eaton of Cedar Point, NC, and Patrick Eaton of Indianapolis, IN, son Solomon Elijah “Eli” and his wife Sara Eaton and their children of Trafalgar, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
His Celebration of Life pitch-in will be held January 12, 2019 beginning at 2pm @ The Martin County 4-H Fairgrounds. Out of respect activities will remain alcohol free. Anyone interested in an impromptu jam session are encouraged to bringing their talent and instruments.
