It is with great sadness that the family of Floyd Vernon McClanahan of Greenwood, Indiana, announces his passing on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the age of 95.
Floyd will be lovingly remembered by his children Debbie (Rick) Woolwine, Cindy Kawamoto, and David McClanahan, as well as stepdaughters Marsha (David) Holmes, Shelly Renee Beal (Pete) Johnson, and stepson Max (Sophie) Beal. Floyd will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Rickey, Robbie, Ryan, Melissa, Lisa, Dane, Jade, Jackie and Macy. He was blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Floyd was predeceased by his brothers Revel and Lowell, and sister Mildred.
Floyd was a WWII Navy veteran. He served aboard a Patrol Craft and was honorably discharged in November of 1945. In 1947 he opened his own real estate office and worked as a realtor until 1965, when he became a stock broker with the New York Stock Exchange. Floyd semi-retired to home building in 1975. He retired to Spring Hill, Florida in 1985. Floyd was an avid Colts, Pacers, and IU Basketball fan.
A funeral service in memory of Floyd will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Emmanuel Church, 1640 Stones Crossing Rd, Greenwood, Indiana 46143. Room 127. Visitation is from 12-1:30, followed by the funeral service. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
