Guadalupe “LuLu” Morales, 10, of Indianapolis passed away on Wednesday August 29, 2018. She was born on Sunday June 15, 2008, and challenged this world to make room for her.
A child who was not supposed to survive, LuLu defied all odds. First to live and then to achieve skills that were supposedly far beyond her ability. With a mischievous smile and a giggle that was contagious, LuLu continued to defy the odds as she learned to communicate using sign and showed everyone around her she was not a child to be underestimated.
Her death was unexpected and leaves a hole in the lives of those who loved and cared for her. While we celebrate the wings that she earned and her ability to fly without the body that would never cooperate, we mourn what could have been.
LuLu is survived by her parents and caregivers, Patricia Phelps, Becky Speidel, Benito Morales, and Patricia Zamora as well as numerous sisters, brothers, extended family and friends. To the nurses who gave tirelessly of their time we love and appreciate all you have done for LuLu.
Visitation will be at Indiana Memorial 3562 W 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46222 on Wednesday September 5, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
There will be a Celebration of Life the weekend of September 16th. Memorial contributions may be made to the Access Behavior Analysis Center.
