Janet Karen (Sutton) Scott, age 77, died on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at I.U. West Hospital in Avon, Indiana. She was a resident of Summit Place West in Indianapolis. Janet was born November 1, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo and Shirley (Wills) Sutton.
Most of her life was spent living in or near Kalamazoo, Michigan, but she had also lived in Sarasota, Florida before spending the last 15 years in the Indianapolis area. Janet was a retired accountant, most recently serving as the volunteer treasurer at Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Scott, her son David Mitchell, and her sister Sandra (Sutton) Barkey. She is survived by her daughter Tammy Asbury and son-in-law Joey Asbury of Plainfield, Indiana; her son Matthew Scott of Greenwood, Indiana; six grandchildren Lauren, Emily, Sarah, Samuel, Andrew, and Matthew; and two brothers Gary Sutton of Augusta, Georgia and Ross Sutton of Placida, Florida.
She will be loved and missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Church Plainfield on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation beginning an hour before the service. Pastor Jeff Tague will officiate.
