Kevin “Wade” Montgomery, 53 of Indianapolis passed from this world on Sunday July 29, 2018. He was born Tuesday February 9, 1965 to Walter Scott Rose and Marilyn Ray (Thompson) Montgomery in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Wade loved beautiful things, people and had a deep affection for animals. He enjoyed volunteering as an adoption assistant for the Southside Animal Shelter. He was a fearless advocate for equality and believed in equal treatment for all people. He enjoyed presenting himself as a gentleman and had a unique and terrific personal style. He had an eye for interior design, and could artfully create one-of-a-kind and interesting spaces. He had a knack for combining seemingly unrelated things – abandoned and discarded items and turning them into something beautiful. One of his favorite places was Kentucky. He so enjoyed Wildcats and watching and rooting for UK Basketball. He also loved all types of music, no matter the genre. He loved being with his life partner and adored his beloved kitties - Cowboy, Loretta and Doolittle.
Wade was preceded in death by his dad Bill Montgomery and mother Marilyn Ray (Thompson) Montgomery and father Walter Scott Rose.
He is survived by his life partner Chris Simmerman, his half-brothers David Eustice, Shane Montgomery, Mark Clay, Hart Rose; half-sisters Diana Gale Waugh Pesicek, Sheri Lynn Rose Haas, Tami Jo Rose Osborne, Alison Rose Bray.
He is missed by all who knew and loved him. Celebration of life arrangements are pending
