P. Eloise (Katie) Reynolds, 89 years of Danville passed from this world on Saturday, May 18, 2019. She was born on Tuesday, April 1, 1930 to Ralph and Flora (Merritt) Tolley, in Mattoon, Illinois. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 1950 until she, husband and family moved to Danville, IN. There she became a member of the St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church from 1967 to present.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Reynolds, her son, John Reynolds her parents and her sister, Mary Catherine O’Dell.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Reynolds (Shery Sears) of Danville, Indiana, her daughters, Kathaleen Baker of Danville, Indiana, Susan Lavenau (Jerry) of Wadsworth, Nevada and Mary Ellen Sweet (John Cannon) of Fernley, Nevada; niece Debbie Reynolds Beever (Perry) and 11 grandchildren: Several great grandchildren and Several great-great grandchildren also survive; as well as many extended family and friends.
Katie worked for Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Danville as housekeeper and cook for five priests over several years. In addition to working at the rectory, she took care of several households within the Danville area.
She was married to Charles Edward Reynolds from 1945 to his passing in 2011. She was a caring mother of five children and one niece. Also active in 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Catholic Youth Organization and Altar Society.
Celebration of life will be held Friday May 31, 2019 at 11:00AM, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
