Memory of My Mother

The week of June 18, 2021, our mother told me the Lord spoke to her and said that he was giving her three (3) weeks before He would take her to heaven.  Many people may have assumed that our mother’s dementia was part of her belief of hearing the voice of the Lord; however, I knew my mother and her strong relationship with the Lord.

It was exactly three (3) weeks from June 18, 2021, on July 9, 2021, that our mother went to heaven to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ.  Mother was a true Woman of God who knew the voice of the Lord and Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease could NEVER take that away from her.

Our mother asked us never to send her to a nursing home and although it was difficult being a caretaker, we respected her wishes and never admitted mother to a nursing home facility.

Momma, we love you and you will be missed here on earth, but we have no doubt that you are in heaven most likely trying to clean something that does not require any cleaning.

                                                                                                            Your Daughter,

                                                                                                            Deidra (“Nikki”) Haynes

You were always beautiful.  You would always smile cheek to cheek and your smile filled up the room when we were together.  I loved chatting and cooking breakfast together and laughing at stuff we had no business laughing at, but you always kept it real at the end of the day.

You will never be forgotten for the tips, tricks, and life advice you taught me, which will be used for generations to come.  May your beautiful and sweet soul lay to rest because your pain is gone.   We are okay down here on earth now that we know you are pain free, so let this day be a happy day for my grandmother who is now at peace with the Lord.  I love you grandma!

                                                                                                                        Yours truly,

                                                                                                                        Jada Russell
