Earl Robbins, age 76, of Trafalgar, Indiana, passed from this life on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born on Tuesday February 15, 1944 in Hardinsburg, Kentucky to Edgar Earl and Hilda Mae (Frank) Robbins. Earl is survived by his wife Jackie (Bell) Robbins and they were married on Friday February 13, 1998 in Tell City Indiana. Sons, B.J. Robbins of Owensboro Kentucky, and Bryan (Jennifer) Sosbe of Indianapolis. Daughters, Cynthia Trentz, Shelley (Stephen) Daily of Latham Illinois, Heather Abrams of Farr West Utah, and Barbara (Donnie) Farina of Tell City Indiana. A brother Raymond (Cathy) Robbins of Evansville Indiana. Sisters, Susie (Sam) Shippey of Mena Arkansas and Dolly Lynch of Bakersfield California. Sister-in-law Joyce Robbins. Grandchildren, Brianna, Dustin, Elyse and Jaxson Sosbe, Kylie and Logan Abrams, Preston Trentz, Leslie and Darren Cartwright, Sarah Dukes and Austin Robbins. Seven great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robbie Robbins, and his brother, Ike Robbins.
Earl was a tugboat engineer for Inland Marine, and he was the engineer and his brother Ike was the captain of the tugboat. They spent most of their time on the Green River, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers.
He was a Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 777.
Pastor Alan Blakeburn will conduct a Celebration of his Life on Friday June 26, 2020 at 1:00PM at Indiana Memorial Funeral Care and Cremation Trafalgar Chapel 3039 W. Co Rd 300S. at St Rd 135 in Trafalgar. The family will be receiving guest on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of service at 1:00PM. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood with full Military Honors conducted by Franklin American Legion.
