Obituary

Harold L. Rankin, 77, passed from this life on January 4th, 2022 at I.U. Hospital in Avon, Indiana. He was born on November 1, 1944 to Charles and Beatrice Rankin in Albion, Michigan. 

He is survived by his wife Barbara Rankin (Layton), sister, Charlene Noppe of Lancaster, PA, brothers, George Rankin of Jacksboro, TN, Charles Rankin of Pleasant, MI, Lyle Rankin of Walled Lake, MI, Carl Schultz of Old Town, FL daughters, Alice Kintigh, Charlene Rankin, and Lisa Lay, with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

 Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged serving mostly in Germany during the Vietnam War after 9 years of service, and was a member of the American Legion.

 He drove Semi-truck for 30 years coast to coast including Alaska and then finished his career as a Sergeant for the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Indianapolis, Indiana where he resided.

 He loved to camp, especially in Florida with family, He was a hunter and loved to fish with family and friends.  

 The family has decided to do a Celebration Of Life on a later date.
