James Everett Walcott
August 15, 1958-September 15, 2021
James (Jimmy) Everett Walcott, age 63, of Indianapolis, went home to the Lord on September 15, 2021. Jimmy was born August 14, 1958, in Newcastle, IN, to the late Everett O. (Bud) Walcott, and Marie P. (Hurt) Walcott. He is survived by his mother, Marie, of Speedway, his sister, Sandy Lowe, of Indianapolis, his sister, Tina Marie Walcott-Ward, of Speedway, and his brother, John Walcott, of Indianapolis. Jim is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jimmy was raised in Shelbyville, Indiana, and graduated from Shelbyville Senior High School in 1976. He was a lifelong carpenter by trade. Jimmy was an avid reader, lover of crossword puzzles, and many sports. Jimmy played roller hockey as a teenager and counted his friendships during his hockey years as the most important friendships of his life. We want to recognize the Bennett, Price, Adams, Hampton, Hurley, Burk, and Bain families, among others, for all of those friendships that meant so much to Jimmy. Jimmy was also an Indiana state champion Golden Gloves boxer who fought under Champ Chaney of the Indianapolis PAL Club during the 1970s.
