Joe Paul Hughes, 74, Indianapolis, Indiana passed from this world on Tuesday, Aug 11, 2020. He was born on Friday, December 28, 1945, to William B. and Essie Mae (Tharp) Hughes in Hazard, Kentucky.

A soft-spoken Family man, a kind man, a strong man, a loving Christian man. Dad was recently baptized again to confirm his faith.

He worked at Bryant Heating and Cooling 10 years. Then he became a brick mason for over 40 years, He worked alongside his brothers, son, cousins and nephews. His work is all over Indiana and will stand the test of time.

He loved old Trucks and Cars. There wasn't anything he didn't know about them.

In later years after he Retired his favorite things was to watch Old Westerns, black and white movies, American Pickers, and kick back in his Robin Egg Blue Rockers and enjoy the sunshine. Dad had a sweet tooth, he loved all the old fashion candies, moon pies and his Pepsi.  Bob's to your door was dads favorite and was a Friday Night ritual for decades.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Essie Mae (Tharp) Hughes, son Leonard Hughes, brothers Wendil Hughes, Rainey Hughes, Willie Jr. Hughes, sister Louise Tharp.

Joe Paul was a Son, Brother, Uncle, Father, Grandfather and Friend to many. He is survived by son Clinton Hughes, daughters Mary Bowen, Diana Blake, Annette (husband Joe) Lane, brother Jack Hughes, sister Wanda Lechuga, 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren,

and many extended family and friends.

We will miss you for the rest of our lives.  

Celebration of Life will be held Sunday August 16th, 2020 at 2 pm, 8312 Waverly Rd. Martinsville, IN 46151
