Mary K. Gage, 80, of Indianapolis, passed peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday
September 1, 2021, after battling cancer and congestive heart failure. Mary’s firm belief in God supported her in her struggles and ultimately gave her peace.
The daughter of Clearance and Goldie Johnson, Mary was born in Ashland, Kentucky on Saturday, May 31, 1941. Mary graduated from high school at 16, attended college, and enjoyed a career in law enforcement and various work experiences throughout her life. She spent much of her life in California and Kentucky, where she was able to build many friendships centered around her love of Jesus and attending church.
Mary is survived by two stepsons Tony and Tim Boyden, a stepdaughter Ronda
(Boyden) Atkerson, her granddaughter Cameray (Boyden) Vican, and her great-grandson Camden Vican who she always had popsicles and ice cream sandwiches in her freezer for. She is also survived by family and friends in Kentucky and California, eleven additional grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, whom she loved and prayed for often. She was preceded in death by brother Bill Johnson and her beloved son David S. Boyden.
A Celebration of her life will be held on September 18th at 2:00 PM at Neighborcare of Chapel Hill 230 Welcome Way Blvd W Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46214.
