William F. Smith

September 30, 1944 ~ January 6, 2021 (age 76)


William F. Smith age 76 of Whiteland passed from this life on Wednesday January 6, 2021 at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on Saturday September 30, 1944 in Vincennes Indiana to William H. and Margaretta (Harris) Smith.

William was the Chief of Police for over 20 years in Pinckney Michigan before retiring. He enjoyed music and playing the drums. He started out with the band The Seventeen and most recently was with Speed City Spoilers. William was a Mason and a member of the Fraternal order of Police. He was a proud Army veteran serving in Vietnam for two tours. 

William is survived by his wife Mendy Smith, a daughter Tina Fletcher of Boswell Indiana, a sister Diana Leudenburg of Clarksville Tennessee, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Rebecca Picchietti.

There will be no services at this time and burial will take place in Clarksville Tennessee.
